Meet the Team

Keri's Story

My career path to counseling involved myriad detours, often times being completely lost.  It was a decision based on deep self-explorations, understanding, and acceptance.  It is for this reason that I wanted to be able to help others discover their potential and live an authentic life.  I believe there is a stigma attached with receiving counseling, but that perspective is faulty.  Counseling is about seeking the wisdom that the individual inherently possesses and recognizing personal strengths to live an authentic and purposeful life.  My advice for anybody thinking about the value of therapy is to consider the value you place on yourself, and determine if you are worth the investment.

I am a  graduate of Siena Heights University with a B.A. in Community Services and an M.A. in Community Counseling.  In my free time, I enjoy volunteering in my community and I have a deep appreciation for the arts.  I value spending time with my family and reading, and as a lover of nature, I am a proponent of the healing benefits of the great outdoors.  As a lifelong learner, I stay active in exploring therapeutic modalities and certifications that influence how I work with my clients.

Meet Jayd

Hello, my name is Jayd, and I am a Limited Licensed Therapist. I am committed to the belief that counseling serves as a catalyst for self-actualization, enabling individuals to realize their highest potential and embark on a journey towards becoming the best version of themselves.

My therapeutic approach is eclectic, integrating various methodologies, yet fundamentally rooted in person-centered principles. This entails facilitating clients in establishing and pursuing their objectives while also empowering them to assume a leading role in the direction of their therapy sessions.

Connect with Melissa

Hello, I am a Limited License Professional Counselor (LLPC).  Prior to earning my master’s degree, I worked in the mental health field for over 11 years as a social worker.  Throughout the course of my career, my experience consisted of working with adults diagnosed with various developmental and clinical differences, including Down Syndrome, Schizophrenia, Traumatic Brain Injury, Borderline Personality Disorder, Bipolar disorders and individuals on the Autism spectrum.  This experience provided me with a lot of meaning and an awareness for gaps in the community for which I continue to advocate.  Additional therapeutic focus includes, but is not limited to, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, domestic violence, teen pregnancy, and women empowerment.

My method of counseling centers around the importance of efficacy and mindfulness with a person-centered approach and implementation of evidence-based practices. I view counseling as a service that helps build connectedness, teaches coping skills, offers hope, provides mental health support, as well as shines light on a person’s inner strength that can be used as a guide for self-improvement and assist with the many stressors of life.

In my spare time I enjoy spending it with my family and our pets, as well as sightseeing, cooking, traveling, camping, and as an avid admirer of theater and the performing arts, checking out a show with gratitude for our local talent.
